Product Description

Power supply: 3-5v

This AMG8833 thermal imaging camera sensor from Panasonic is an 8x8 infrared thermal sensor array. When connected to your microcontroller (or Raspberry Pi) it will return a set of 64 individual IR temperature readings via I2C. It's like one of those fancy thermal cameras, but compact and simple for easy integration. The AMG8833 is Panasonic's next generation 8x8 thermal infrared sensor and offers higher performance than the previous AMG8831. The sensor supports I2C only and has a configurable interrupt pin that can be triggered when any individual pixel is above or below a threshold you set.

The AMG8833 thermal imaging camera sensor has a temperature measurement range of 0°C to 80°C (32°F to 176°F) , with an accuracy of + - 2.5 %.

The accuracy is + - 2.5°C (4.5°F). It can detect humans from distances of up to 7m (23) feet. With a maximum frame rate of 10Hz, it is perfect for creating your own body detector or mini thermal imaging camera. We use the code for this breakthrough on an Arduino or compatible (the sensor communicates via I2C) or a Raspberry Pi using Python. On the Pi, with the help of the SciPy python library for image processing, we can insert an 8x8 grid and get some really good results!
